Victoria Police said emergency services were called to Station Place about 3.45pm on Thursday after reports that a male had been injured.
The force confirmed late on Thursday that a 16-year-old Melton South boy had been stabbed. Paramedics tried to revive him, but he died at the scene.Police are yet to establish the exact circumstances of the incident, but said homicide squad detectives were investigating.
