Update: Several children have been freed after a school bus with more than 20 students onboard collided with a truck on Melbourne’s western fringe.

More than 20 children have been hospitalised, including six with traumatic injuries, after a truck collided with a school bus with 45 children onboard on Melbourne’s western fringe.

Ambulance Victoria said six passengers were taken to hospital with “serious traumatic injuries” and another 16 are in hospital in a stable condition. Of the 22 people transported to hospital all but one – the bus driver – are school children.
