TheRealJT9 Hi

I pay $100 for my teaching accreditation and over $400 for my psychology registration each year. All I see from either is a bill once a year (if they can sort their systems out.) So my thinking is they must have the most expensive and inefficient billing system in the world? 😂😒

I guess the people employed to oversee the Institute and the registration process need paying. So it’s like a perfect circle that nothing ever interrupts.

This is disgraceful. And they wonder why 45% of new teachers in Australia leave the profession after the first 5 years.

JaneCaro The details are different but WA and Teacher Registration Board is the same story.

JaneCaro I object to the usurious fee. I object to the bureaucratic fiat. I object to the pithy and trite teaching standard statements (uninspiring and unaspirational). I object to teachers having to provide copious paperwork as evidence. I object to wasting our time and a school’s money.

JaneCaro I believe NewsAtNESA is using the money to reissue the 2018 HSC certificates with the correct date.

I thought it must be for all the change needed in stationery. In a few years we’ve moved from the Board of Studies to BOSTES and now NESA. Other than that, must be for the privilege of teaching. 😊

packetofchips Nailed it

Teachers are slaves, that's why?

I am sure the money goes to hard working party hacks waiting to fill safe seats, they get to practice policy documents & glossy brochures. $100 x 83 000 = $8 300 000 a tidy little sum !

Bit like the teachers institute just a load of bunkum. Just let teachers teach and stop the continual derision. I taught from 1970 and wouldn’t take the job on for triple the salary. Come on teachers walk off the job totally until someone listens.

Ha! We have a similar mob in QLD called 'The QLD College of Teachers', which replaced the Board of Teacher Registration over a decade ago. Annual fees more than tripled overnight, and for what? A glossy self promoting brochure? They have done zilcho for any teacher I know thief

What a bloody disgrace. Shiny arsed desk jockeys justifying their jobs at expense of real workers

teachers need to take self defence lessons.

I reckon those same muggers hang out in those non bank ATM machines. They mug me and steal $2.50 or more every time i take my money out of my bank account. Thieves ......... arrest them !!

Basically it’s a fine you pay for the privilege of having a 12-month contract of employment.
