Youth wrestler breaks nose of opponent after match as police launch investigation

Police have launched an investigation after a youth wrestler was caught on camera sucker punching his opponentHafid Alicea of Maine West High School suffered a 14-2 defeat to Cooper Corder of SPAR Wrestling Academy at the ‘Beat the Streets’ tournament in Illinois on April 8.After the match, both wrestlers were invited to shake hands by the referee and Corder was more than willing to do so as he extended his hand to his rival.

Instead of offering his in return, though, Alicea punched his opponent right in the face and dropped him to the floor in shocking footage that has since gone viral on social media. Two adults quickly rush onto the mat to attend to the stricken teenager and Alicea was guided out of the gym as the referee stepped in to stop the situation from getting out of hand.
