The security company at the Glasgow School of Art was replaced prior to the blaze

A 'lack of transparency' around the devastating fire that destroyed the Mackintosh Building was blasted as it emerged the security company was replaced prior to the blaze.

The firm, which was registered in Essex and had an office in Stirling, had its approved contractor status with the Security Industry Authority withdrawn in October 2017. The report into the fire, which was published in January last year, said that accidental ignition by something like a cigarette could not be fully ruled out, neither could a deliberate fire or electrical failure.

"Instead, four and a half years after the latest fire and almost a decade after the original fire in 2014, the Mackintosh Building is nothing but a shell and scaffolding. "The contract with the Security Company was entered into by Kier Construction and a copy of this is not held by GSA. A petition to wind up Appollo Security Services was submitted at the High Court of Justice on January 26, 2018 and granted on February 15 that year.

Hundreds of anti-abortion protestors gather for final vigil at Glasgow hospitalMembers of 40 Days for Life gathered outside the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Sunday evening for their last vigil after almost six weeks of protests. These are disgusting, disgusting, loathsome people. Jesus would’ve fucking hated every single one of these judgemental saddos, and told them to stop wasting their time harassing women, and instead go and feed the fucking poor. Scumbags. Hugely contentious subject, few know that 39% of annual terminations in Scotland are repeats .. And let that be the last of them.
