This sounds great but with the rise of budget cuts in school, shortage in teachers, lack of education in poorer areas this becomes a waste of money. Stop cutting funding, create more schools with resources and activities, actually make school engaging and exciting

‘The government’ is funding this? With whose money?

150 million on strike in India. Things you don’t report on the BBC.

BBCYoungReport Election must be coming. Start with increasing the funding for schools, further education colleges covering evening classes and schools for special need children. This is a cosmetic initiative.

What a absolute waist of taxpayers cash theresa_may, in a country with council budgets cut to the bone, this is what the party come up with! School exchanges, unbelievable Conservatives

People getting angry over this - look at it in context. Some individual MPs claimed more than this will cost in expenses. Seriously, this is tiny. Focus your energy on targets that deserve it - not poor schoolchildren.

I appreciate the help for the “poorer” kids but what about those kids that are not classed as “poor” because the parents work there arse’s off to provide but are above the cut off point and could never afford a foreign holiday?

Stop wasting Taxpayers Money our schools are dropping to bits all over crowded not enough teachers ect , start spending on real things sort our school out first always t same look after others first bloody Goverment

Why - The benefits of school overseas trips, in terms of educational criteria, has no indicated educational value exceeded by classroom methods.

This is what our efforts and $ is used for

That's wonderful. Does it include provision for the £142,100 for new blue/black passports for these 2,900 kids too? 😎
