'Explain to me how this is in the best interest of 190,000 students, their parents, the community, or the city,' Houston Mayor Turner said. Here's what the takeover would entail.

"Explain to me how this is in the best interest of 190,000 students, their parents, the community, or the city," Turner said.

"That doesn't work," Turner said on the timeframe. "If you're removing the board of trustees in its entirety, and if you remove the current superintendent, who is moving this district in the right direction?" Mayor Turner, who was a state representative at the time, said he voted for the bill but was unaware of this element at the time.

Just keeping us real, real stupid. Way to go HISD.

HISD has failed the students of Houston. Get rid of them. Kids are violent and have fallen behind in their studies.

How about a quality education monitored and controlled by professionals instead of political hacks vying for higher office.
