Far Eastern University (FEU) staved off University of the Philippines (UP), 25-16, 23-25, 25-17, 26-24 for a winning start in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 85 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday.

Aly Bertolano put the Fighting Maroons at set point, 24-23, in the third frame, but Alyzza Devosora scored back-to-back kills to put the Lady Tamaraws at match point.Steph Bustrillo then committed an attack error that sealed the win for FEU.
