PHOTO/VAUGHAN MERCHANT.SYDNEY, N.S. - No Cape Breton Capers players may have won any major awards this year in Atlantic University Sport basketball, but the university wasn't completely shutout from recognition.

Meanwhile, Capers rookie guard Justus Peuser was named to the league's all-rookie team . The German had a good first season in Sydney, dropping 11.9 points per game. He was also among the leaders in assists . In the women's division, Capers forward Kiyara Letlow was named a first-team all-star after finishing second in conference scoring with 20.6 points per game. The Toronto product, who set an AUS single season rebound record, led the league in rebounds per game with 16.6, and was among the league leaders in blocks . She finished the year with 333 rebounds.

First-year forward Darah Fleurgin was named to the all-rookie team for the year. The Montreal product was fifth in team scoring for the Capers, posting 5.9 points per game. She was tied for second in the league in blocks .
