"It's very painful for all the students. We tried our best to be sonographers, but all of a sudden everything changed," said Najmah Hashmine, an Etobicoke student who took the program.
A spokesperson for the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities told CTV News Toronto, “Accreditation Canada determined in November 2022 that Canadian All Care College’s Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Program did not meet the professional standards set by the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario and revoked CACC’s status.”
The college did provide refunds to all students for their tuition and some other expenses, but some students say they had other costs and also feel like they have wasted two years of time. “We hired qualified instructors, we have all the equipment needed, we invested millions into the program, we have fourteen ultrasound machines and they're not cheap," said Aryan.
If you (Ontario) offer the program(private or not, WHY would YOU NOT MAKE it meet ALL standards? WOW, Ontario you messed up!!!

If their ultrasound program and grads don't meet certificate criteria, I shudder to think what quality PSW's they're unleashing out into healthcare.

How did it take years for the Ministry and relevant institutions to even notice a school with two campuses and pumping out students had not been meeting professional standards
So why are these schools allowed to exist? Isn’t there some agency that can verify accreditation so that people aren’t scammed out of their hard earned money?

Shocked or wanted a short cut to education? All accredited colleges or programs can be found in the appropriate government website with a NOC or National Occupational Classification?

There are shady ppl setting up bogus “colleges” in Canada, especially for the Indian international students. It’s a racket.
fordnation wasn't involved in this. The college did not main the level of training and education required. The students were made whole through refunds. If the students have an issue its with the private school. They may feel trained but need to take the courses to prove it

From the owner of the sketchy 'college'. 'he is hopeful that students who took the program will still find a way to work in the ultrasound field.' You would hope they wouldn't but, some unaccredited clinics may hire unlicensed staff. Go private healthcare!
Force all college employees to compensate all the cost of students for 5he next two years and send them to prison for two years after that.

Hang on, you're complaining that the government isn't allowing graduates of schools with no accreditation to work as medical professionals? If they did, you'd be reporting a scandal about the government not doing its job.
They don't deserve to be ultrasound technicians. They don't even know about snells law or incidence angles!
