Chinenye Vera Okonkwo had been studying for a MSc in Public Health at Glasgow Caledonian University since January last year
Chinenye Vera Okonkwo, 33, was walking on St Vincent Street when she was critically injured at about 19:40 on Thursday. In a statement, released by the force, the student's family said: "Chinenye was a wonderful, kind, intelligent young woman with a strong faith in God. She had a passion to succeed and whatever obstacles she faced were overcome.
Sad. But quite striking how the bbc can show a picture, showing this lady was black, and say clearly that she was Nigerian. When murders and other serious crimes are committed by black or brown people, or migrants, such detail is mentioned less prominently if at all.
RIP
Is this of national or international importance, no it isn't it's local Glasgow news but I can guess why it's made the BBC.
