Cape Breton University and its faculty association reached a tentative agreement late Sunday afternoon. On Tuesday morning, the faculty association voted to ratify the agreement. IAN NATHANSON/CAPE BRETON POSTSYDNEY, N.S. — The Cape Breton University Faculty Association has ratified the university's most recent contract offer.
A total of 203 votes were received, 83.7 per cent in favour of accepting the terms of the offer, the release said. CBUFA had been on strike since Jan. 27 to support demands for salaries that better keep pace with inflation, respect for the collective agreement, and to maintain the quality of education at the university, the release said. The last collective bargaining agreement expired on Oct. 31, 2021.
