Mass strike action on 1 February will disrupt daily life - No 10

Workers from seven unions will be on strike on 1 February, the biggest day of industrial action for more than a decade.

The action comes as the Trades Union Congress says the average public sector worker is more than £200 a month worse off compared with a decade ago. The new law would set minimum service levels that striking industries would have to meet before taking action.

No shit

That's literally the entire point of a mass strike action, yes

That's the point, buddy

'Not paying people a fair wage will disrupt daily life' fixed it.

Any more than all the water, rail and brexit fuck ups?

We will cope

That's kinda the point.

Good

Shit pay & conditions disrupt daily life for millions ~ every day.

🤬

Without unions and strikes we would still be working 7 days a week with no paid holidays, maternity leave, holiday pay etc. Of course it disrupts life. It's a means to an end

SupportTheStrikes

I think the queens funeral also disrupted daily life but wasn’t framed this way

Let this destroy the tory government

SupportTheStrikes The corrupt Tory government disrupts life on a daily basis

How much have the Tories disrupted daily life?

Headline by ChatGPT?

I can see a General Strike looming

no. 10 has distrupted the daily life of people in this country year round and in some cases permanently or terminally in ways they cannot even comprehend even if they cared to

Now do the coronation of Charles

12 years of a Tory Government will disrupt daily life

THATS THE POINT

Who is responsible for this GOVERNMENT

Strike Pandemic takes over Britain. Talk of integrity, ownership, governance, remains in words. Trains, Teachers, Nurses, Border Force, on strike, While PM jets into his meetings.

It’s great that No 10 is letting the strikers know that their industrial action is effective.

How complex is this? If you tell people for decades that the reason why they are poor is because of cheap foreign labour and they vote to limit that through brexit, then they will expect to see a rise in wages because of a reduced workforce creating a supply/demand problem.

Yes that’s the whole idea

Good, I’m glad this hellfire of an existence is being disrupted, bout time

Thay is how strikes work. They are meant to cause disruption SupportTheStrikes

Good

Yep, yep that’s the general idea. Great work.

Sack the Tories

I am fully behind the workers taking strike action. People do not want to strike. It is always the last option

Isn't that like... the point?

Mass strikes are from the dark ages ….militants trying to wreck the govt./capitalism/democracy are dinosaurs. The world has moved on. Best ignore them and carry on! 🙂

Tories being in so much power for so long disrupt daily life* Strikers are everyday, working people who just want better conditions. Tories are money grabbing and gaslighting this country.

Good! Public sector workers need an above inflation pay rise. People need money in their pocket to spend & boost the local economy & support businesses. The government can well afford it as VAT tax revenue alone is up by over 11%. Decent pay now trumps tax cuts for the rich!

Good! Y'all should join!

Feature, not bug. Ticket closed.

GeneralElectionNow

Are you otherwise suggesting a fascist dictatorship, a regime, like China, Korea, Russia!? Where democracy is dead CrimesAgainstDemocracy HumanRightsViolations censorship CORRUPTION Democide Genocide MassMurder ToryFascistDictatorship

Brilliant. A good start

Supporting you on this magical day.

That's the idea.

New non disruptive form of activism discovered by scientists. The government study sponsored by the CBI used computer models to predict that simply by dying enmasse from outsourcing Britain could achieve a living wage just before the heat death of the universe.

I may be wrong, but I think that the intention of strike action is to disrupt. Were it not so, there would be no point in such action. So, thank you 'government' but most of us can manage without statements of the obvious.

Goodluck

… champion solidarity? 🤝

unbelievable every one who striking is on thousands more than Joe public, who are struggling to feed themselves or pay the bills, cant believe they doing this right after lockdown when the country in crisis

And those without children will be expected to cover work while all the parents get paid special leave to enjoy a day off😡

Good.

Thus government and its gangster capitalist buddies are ruining our lives

There's no point otherwise.

That's the point. To prove how valuable they are.

That's the idea!

But I’ll suck it up in support of the strikers

Excessive private profits are disrupting daily life. Fixed that headline for you

That's the point of strikes

Only when it hits the businesses of MPs will they bother. Good on um.

That's the point. Did you take corporate bootlicking classes as part of your journalism degree, or did your dad get you this job?

Wow. How insightful. Do Brexit now.

Maybe No. 10 could look into that and see if there's something positive they could contribute?

SOLIDARITY! CORRUPT TORY’S OUT!

Excellent

Breaking news: Bears shit in woods.

Well they fingered out the point! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Its always these days those who are spending the national wealth who strike in order to prevent those who generate that wealth from doing so. PublicSector vs privatesector

Oh noes, Tory failure has consequences? Who'd of thought that 13 years of failure would lead to unrest with the proles?

Hell yes it will and No 10 could do something about it other than try and pit us against eachother but they won’t!!!

Good

That is entirely the point.

that’s the idea yes

Good

Good

A tip make sure you have a empty bottle if everyone is on strike all the public inconveniences will be closed as we found in 79/80s London demos

The government do not give 2 flying fcks about the people of this country. If only we had a party we could actually trust. We need a party of normal people, not millionaires who pretend to know what it's like to have no heat or food.

No shit Sherlock! It’s meant to.

It's been proven that resolving the disputes when they started last year would have been cheaper. The tories have allowed this to carry on to grandstand and strip away workers rights in the most draconian way.

Good!

Good. Daily life under the Tories needs disrupting.

12 years of low or no wage increases is finally catching up with the tories

Wow absolute geniuses in Downing St. Coming up next week: NO. 10 proposes a novel circular device for facilitating propulsion in land vehicles.

Eh I'm pretty sure disruption is the point! Duh!

That is the point of a strike, to cause distribution. A reminder to us all of the value of the people behind the work too many take for granted and this government pays too little whilst it indemnifies itself at taxpayers expense. GeneralStrike GeneralStrikeNow

How can they afford to continuously strike? Rail workers are now going down with illnesses code for paid skiving!

If only there was some kind of incentive they could offer workers

Sounds like your 'daily life' workers are fed up tbh

As opposed to 13 years of tories ruining daily life

Yes……and?

Excellent..! Bring on GeneralStrikeNow & swill this lousy grubby rabble of Conservatives away like sewage..👏

✊✊✊

Everyone, if you could please restrict your striking to a Sunday night, or any quiet period that won’t affect business too much, that would be very much appreciated.

Suppressing wages disrupts daily life, too ...

Well yes, that's the point. And like it or not, a majority of us support them.

Top politicians in 'people I need to do everything for me want something in return' shocker

Sounds like the bosses should give them what they want

excellent, exactly as it should be

Yes, that’s the point xo

That's the point! They all have my support!

I support those striking for fair pay and healthy working conditions.

The Tory gov. has been disrupting the entire country for years.

I'd have thought having them all on one day was less disruptive

More striking analysis from number 10 then

Yes, good

That's kind of the point

I can guarantee they will be nipping into Starbucks or McDs for their coffee fix and are served by someone on minimum wage . They are not able to strike !! They just get on with it and be grateful for a job !! Shame on the strikers 😡😡

That's the idea. And the public support it. Thieving tax avoiding Tories.

Nobody actually cares what this government says anymore. It’s a dead man walking GeneralElectionNow

Yeah . that's the point. That's the tool to negotiate with the powerful,

good

Yeah it will. That's the point

Good! Not like Number 10 isn’t ruining ours 😳

Solidarity with all of them

If their absence causes so much disruption, maybe they should be paid and treated like they're essential 🤔🤔🤔

Won’t bother us or disrupt our lives, no school age children, no public transport goes anywhere near my place of work, not planning to use a dinghy etc so I’ll get up, get in my car & go to work just as I do everyday but then I work in the private sector with no union🤷🏻‍♂️

Just Tory PR at this point aren't you...

Both my kids schools have made adjustments and mychildren will be attending, I feel for working parents who are having issues

Pure greed on the strikers, sack the lot of them and get people in who would do the job at the same pay

University staff wanting a pay rise 🤣🤣🤣 it’s obscene. Let’s see how many students want to increase their obscene fees to cover it

Next up: water is wet. More news at 9.

Yes. That is the point.

Good, that’s why workers strike believe it or not! ✊🏼 Solidarity with all workers who will be striking tomorrow for a better working wage in line with inflation or above. Your union is right there with you. Let these Tory scumbags know we mean business NeverTrustATory

Thanks No.10. I really didn’t know what ‘mass strike’ meant! Deary me……

Am I the only one in the country actually working? Oh wait, I’m self employed.

Going on strike is a sign of a desparate workforce. It a difficult decision which costs the individual in many ways. It can be avoided if employers want a good productive workforce.

Excellent

Strike action: That's precisely the point.

Yes, it will. Good.

Wow.....who knew?

No sh*t Sherlock. That's why they are doing it . This government will not negotiate, so what else can they do ?

Which is exactly the point. They have my support.

£30+ Grand a Year … SOCIALIST GREED

that's what mass strikes are supposed to do.

Really?

That’s what a strike is supposed to do yer daft apeth. What’s the point of striking at 3am on a Wednesday morning?

Yes, that's the point darling...

Good thats the point. This is to show how important they are to maing tha nation work.

Well pay the bloody people the wages they deserve then

Yes that’s the idea, you pointless Tory mouthpiece

No shit, Sherlock.

The root cause is the gross economic mis-management of this tory government and brexit.

Having a Tory government disrupts daily life.

Good. Let them continue. Up the workers

Isn’t that the whole point of strikes?

Damn. Well maybe the government should actually engage in good faith and work to settle these disputes. In the meantime, I’m with the workers.

Yes. It will. People need more money to be able to continue to live though so maybe pay them instead.

That's the whole point of strikes 🙄

That's the point, yes. Support striking workers. If they get better pay and conditions it benefits everyone.

Good, that’s the whole point of strike action, you fucking halfwits.

Won't even notice. Don't give in to the Unions!

Unreal what's going on government needs to listen to the workplace and act

And the inventor of the strike can rest easy
