I think it’s really important for parents to teach their children at a VERY young age how to tell others you are choking. (Placing hands on their own neck). This is so sad and likely could have been avoided. My heart is broken for the family, students and staff.

This should have never happened. Heartbreaking for this family. -Schools get funded but for most it seems to go towards the sports department. Am I wrong for saying that? Or maybe I’ve just seen it and heard about it with the schools I know about.
This is so sad, the heimlit maneuver doesn't always work. I'm sure the kid was just excited talking to his friends and swallowed his food incorrectly and it's a possibility it got into his lungs. That's the biggest cause of pneumonia, so it's possible that's what killed him.

Schools are understaffed, that's why school districts around the country are going g to 4 day Work Weeks. San Antonio is also considering a 4 Day Workweek bc the State isn't funding schools properly. Blame Governors for nit distributing more to schools.

There’s a new invention out you don’t even have to do the Heimlich anymore just a simple little tool you put up the face and suck it right out. All schools should be equipped by now with these. I forget what they are called. Sad for the family, classmates and teachers. Tragic
