"Whatever HECS you have owing, if you work in a remote country town for four years, then we'll scrap that debt," he said. yeah and then you get the experience my son had. prep...2nd yr of teaching, 1st grade experienced, grade 2 2yr of teaching. grade 3 experienced, grade 4 2nd yr of teaching, gr5 2nd yr of teaching, gr 6 2nd yr of teaching. i'd say 50% of the staff were 3 yrs or less out of uni

Whatever happened to the compulsory 12 month country postings which worked well and matured young teachers. Plenty stayed on to enjoy great careers in the outback.
Incentives for remote area work are incredible for teachers, but they're still not coming 🤔
Maybe they can do the same for doctors?
If you're going to pay off the debt, then just train the locals for free.
