Students Can Carry Guns at the University of Texas -- But They Can't Use TikTok

While students and faculty, under the guise of their own and the university’s safety, will no longer be allowed to access TikTok via university WiFi, under Abbott’s governance they can still carry a firearm on campus. Texas’ “campus carry” laws permit students to carry concealed handguns on campus, including in classrooms.

Texas has seen some of the nation’s most brutal mass shootings in recent history, including the 2022 massacre of 19 children and two teachers

How is he going to stop them from using Tik tok? His Abbott monitoring everyone’s phone? Or does this apply to professors.

This is crazy. Tik Tok is right protected under the Constitution. It’s the parts where they mention time. (Doesn’t really matter what the subject is.) And everyone knows that Time=TikTok Easy Peezy

This can get very interesting, because a student is not the same as an employee who is bring their personal device to work. So, do students have to op-in to a term of use at the university? If so, does it spell out what the U can and can't 'see' on the device? Privacy BYOD
