Teachers Quit Jobs at Highest Rate on Record

Move on into private education, if you can

The public school system in our country is set up for frustration and failure. Teachers are not to be blamed

Also poor student behavior, lack of parental support, poor administration support, grade inflation, and social promotion. And oh yeah, bogus diagnosis’s of ADD, ADHD, and fake IEPs to get better grades. America fails at education at home.

If i ever quit, it would be 1) the parents and constant communication from them; 2) standardized testing; 3) lack of respect from so many who ask why i work so hard when 'you're just a teacher.'

The elephant in the room is this. Teachers have neither the stamina or the financial incentive to give children in the classroom what parents fail to provide at home.

I’m one of those who quit this year. Class sizes got larger every year, and I couldn’t give kids the education they deserved. It was affecting how I felt about myself and my profession, so I’m back in the private sector now.

What to solve the problem? Here's how: fire 1/3 of administrators at all levels, cut the salaries of the rest by at least 1/3, and put the money in the classroom in the form of higher pay for teachers. There, that was easy.

Too much administrative waste

I wouldn't be a teacher for long. Kids are rude, have no manners, curse like longshoremen, and threaten to turn in people for stuff they didn't do just to get people fired and or put in jail with huge lawyer fees.

Trump economy, better oportunities..... the bad news, jobs will be replaced by underacheiving, motivationless government dependents

Blame the union: they think the best teachers on the planet aren’t worth a dollar more than the worst. And blame politicians: they’ve sunk most states in oceans of debt.

Meanwhile, the lifers are the worst-educated and highest paid. The whole system is upside down.

Education is becoming more private.

Not to mention how they are disrespectfully treated by students in their classroom, and dealing with 🚁 parents.

I think more than anything, they get no respect and kids are allowed to do whatever they want.

The future of public education is short. The educational system became a retirement scam for teachers unions and their hugely generous retirement packages (along with the other public employee unions) are bankrupting cities and states.

I quit teaching because there is no discipline in the schools.

Just learn to code buckos!

Pfft as with any industry.
