There appeared to be little movement in bargaining between the Ontario government and the union representing 55,000 educational support workers Thursday, with days left before another possible strike that could shut down Ontario schools.

But Education Minister Stephen Lecce said he's hopeful that the two sides will get back to the table.

The union represents custodial staff, educational assistants, administrative staff and other workers. The union has said since that the two sides recently agreed to a 3.59 per cent wage increase, but that CUPE is still not happy with staffing levels for their workers. “All of that crisis that happened just a few weeks ago was unnecessary, just like what's happening now is unnecessary. There are resources available. The financial accountability officer says there's a budget surplus, there are ways in which the government could make these investments and actually help schools that actually help our kids. And that's really now the focus of bargaining for our folks.

Keep the doors closed hopefully it’ll halt the social experiment taking place on the children and by that hopefully the hormone, surgery and vaccine experiments on said children might also be halted, why not figure out something better to do, go to a park.

What a cutie I might add. Sorry even us seniors look you know🥰

waltonmom I spoke to some of your Members today and they all said they don’t want to strike Laura they want to vote on what the government has proposed so why are you not letting them

Fire all of these Hacks

Lecce doesn’t care about kids in public education. He wants to privatize with a voucher system.

CuPE is losing support. Accept the terms and get to work.

If Lecce wants a deal so bad then get to the table, clocks ticking here. I will 100% support the folks working who actually have merits for their position over a bunch unqualified MPP's with 0 qualifications for their position. Hell the Premier isn't qualified for his job

Over played it CUPE. All for ego and cash...

Then get to the table now!

Is there a possibility to compromise respectfully on both sides of the table?

C.U.P.E. Communism's useful parasites everyday

waltonmom Congratulations Laura Walton! You are now officially the most HATED person by parents and taxpayers 👏👏👏👏👏

Ask any other private cleaner what they are paid...members give your heads a shake... Teaching assistants deserve more...

They lied about the 39k & they are lying about what they call “services”, basically waiting to be paid for hrs they don’t work. Also lied about hiring & funding cuts. IdontstandwithCUPE
