Ontario students could be out of the classroom again on Monday. CUPE filed a five-day strike notice Wednesday after bargaining talks with the province broke

Earlier this week, the province repealed Bill 28, the legislation that was meant to stop them from striking earlier this month and force a contract on them.

“Despite many late hour attempts to achieve a freely negotiated settlement talks have again broke down and the difficult decision was made to serve the five-day notice of strike to the Council of Trustees Association and Government. The OSBCI remains focused on not only achieving a deal that provides workers with a livable wage but ensures that the services that students need are improved and protected. We remain committed to reaching a fair settlement prior to November 21.

CUPE school support staff set to strike again after talks with province break downHundreds of thousands of parents and students should brace for more labour uncertainty in schools after unionized support staff are set to walk off the job again. Not surprising ford and leece are bargaining in bad faith. If they wont listen to the unions bottom line then this is what they ask for. They want to keep the money for their own raises. CUPE are greedy shameful lazy and entitled. The slogan and Act 'Keeping Students in Class' was a massive failure on Lecce's part on November 4 & 7. Stating truisms (benefit of being in school) doesn't deliver execution without the goodwill of workers. Looks like he'll add November 21 to his list of failures.
