Last season marked only the second time in 14 years, the Phoenix didn't play for a provincial title. They had to watch the Auburn Drive Eagles capture their first School Sport Nova Scotia football championship banner with a 30-20 win over the Bay View Sharks.Citadel is back in a big way and hungry for a title in 2022. The Phoenix went 8-0 this season and will meet the Eagles for the provincial crown on Sunday at Saint Mary's.
"Previous results mean next to nothing when it comes to this game. Whether it's the results from last year, or four weeks ago, we are focused on what's next and the big challenges that come with it. Auburn has a lot of talented football players and we are expecting them to come right at us. It should make for some exciting football for the fans to watch."
Haydn McDermott led the Cheetahs with 15 points, while VanRae Anderson added 14, Kyan Feron 13 and Arad Ahadi 10. Jaran Gallant netted 14 for Woodlawn.: Aidan Taylor scored 18, Lance Howlett and Eamon Johnston 15 each, Andrew Dobson 11 and Kaleb Johnson 10 for the Sharks.
