Nigerian University Lecturers, ASUU React To Industrial Court’s Ruling Ordering Immediate Resumption After 7 Months StrikeASUU has been on strike since February 14 over demands from the government.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that while delivering a judgement on the Nigerian government's interlocutory injunction, Justice Polycarp Hamman stopped ASUU from continuing with the strike until the case was resolved. Comrade Usman Barambu, National President of NANS, told on Wednesday said the Nigerian Government should not see the judgement as a victory over ASUU.

“We implore the government to meet the demands of ASUU, as the court said negotiation will continue while the matter is being heard before the court. Also, the government should not because of the fact that the matter is still before the court takes the issue of negotiation with ASUU with levity. It is still a running matter. Also, parents under the auspices of the National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria, NAPTAN, have reacted to the development.

Nigerian Students, NANS Rejects Court Ruling, Ordering University Lecturers To Resume | Sahara ReportersThe National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has rejected the ruling by the National Industrial Court ordering the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to end its current strike. SaharaReporters earlier reported that while delivering a judgement on the Nigerian government's interlocutory injunction, Justice Polycarp Hamman stopped ASUU from continuing with the strike until the case was resolved. NANS!! Are you fighting for Lecturers or Nigerian Students? Because it seems I don't understand this drama anymore. I need better explanation from NANS. Thanks. These ones obviously don't know anything. Activism without proper reasoning is leading to the demise of ASUU. Better begin to dust up your books and prepare for resumption. It will happen soon. Correct ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾, it's only foolish students that will support irresponsible Judge that ordered ASUU to resume when irresponsible government are yet meet ASUU demands.
