The letter stated the action was "appropriate" for the severity of the matter and hoped staff would follow future directions. "The disciplinary action reflects the seriousness of the matter, but as you remain an employee of the department, affords you the opportunity to continue to perform your duties, and display modified behaviour, by complying with directions in future.

Are the parents getting fines for not getting their kids vaccinated? I'm a teacher, quadruple vaxxed, immunosuppressed. Not one child in my school wears a mask. Many not vaccinated. But who gives a fuck about us, right?

Woeful behaviour by education department from start to finish. 'You will inject this substance or be sacked/stood down/have your pay docked'. Not the only employer to take this approach, but doesn't make it any better.

How can anyone think this is remotely normal or ok, when the vaccine hasn't even been for the strain we've been dealing with this whole year (omicron was around Nov/Dec 2021) and it doesn't stop infection or transmission. Not only that, kids aren't even required to be vaxxed

So why return to work. If the teachers were happy to be stood down last November for failure to get vaccinated. Then they would stay out of work. I personal think this is a slap in the face. They were told they could return to work and now told they be docked pay.
