Mike Cason al.com MONTGOMERY - Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey made her first announced public appearance in almost three weeks Monday morning and told reporters she had a “clean bill of health.”Ivey toured the new Science, Technology, Engineering and Math lab at Dalraida Elementary School in Montgomery.

Before Monday, Ivey’s last announced public appearance was Aug. 2 at a groundbreaking for a building materials company in Prattville. Ivey’s press office issued a statement on Aug. 11 dismissing the speculation about her health as “bogus rumors” and saying the governor was “healthy and cancer-free.”
Ivey announced in September 2019 she had lung cancer and released a statement from her doctor in January 2020 saying he considered her cured after radiation treatment. The governor described the cancer as a small, isolated malignancy.
