The Weekend Australian’s analysis of multiple universities indicated a direct correlation between high dropout rates and low ATAR

admission standards.As Australia struggles with a teacher shortage, universities argue upping entry requirements would exacerbate the crisis.

Good. University education courses need a huge shake up. There's far too much emphasis on theory and not enough on how to actually teach. Uni speech therapy students get a far better education in how to teach literacy than education/ teaching uni students do.

The ROI on the HECS debt of a teaching degree isn’t worth it.

How many dropped out because of economic pressures?

Go woke, go broke.

If Murdoch stopped devaluing teachers & running them down they might get the respect & remuneration they deserve & the thousands of teachers that have left & are leaving could return!!
