A Leaving Certificate student stole the show at the Dublin Horse Show's Ladies Day competition on Thursday - with a hand crafted outfit from top to toe.
“This is my first Ladies Day. I was inspired by My Fair Lady and every time I think about horse shoes I think about the scene with everyone dressed up with big fancy hats and I just wanted to add a twist with my own style to it.” “I feel like life is quite dull with covid and lockdown and I wanted this to symbolise life blooming again after Covid.”“This is the first thing I’ve made but I love watching others make stuff so I plan to get some fabric and do it some more.“It was outstanding and felt ethereal.”
“I am a big follower of fashion and ladies’ fashion in particular. I dress up as a sort of women for a living. For the first time ever, the Very Best Dressed award will be open to everyone, no matter gender, and that’s a big thing for me. To be part of something so iconic is really amazing!”with Oyiuclamola Animashaun from Blanchardstown taking home a €1,000Vilhelmiina Huuskonen from Phibsboro won a €1,000 voucher sponsored by CLOUDNINE.
“I’m thrilled, the suit has been two years in the making because I was supposed to have it for the horse show 2020 but obviously with covid I put it on hold and had to get it remeasured because I put on weight during that time so I got it during the week. And I’m delighted. It was worth the wait so I’m going to go to celebrate now.”
