Pahang Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ismail Abdul Ghani said they received a distress call at 9.39am and 16 firefighters in three engines from the Gebeng and Indera Mahkota stations rushed to the scene.
"There were 100 wooden huts there and they were situated close to each other, causing the fire to spread quickly. "We managed to get the blaze under control at 10.29am, but 33 of the huts were destroyed,” he said when contacted, adding that the cause of fire and total value of the losses were still being determined. – Bernama
