The Cross River State Government has decried the increasing incidences of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in parts of the state.

Asibong lamented the increased incidences of rape of minors and those of school ages by adults in the state, appealing for a reduction in the number of violent crimes against women and girls in the state. “I will like to appreciate the United Nations; it has always been supporting our effort and working through the Gender And Development Action. We are very happy that this training is happening because Cross River State is committed to ensuring that survivors speak out to get the necessary assistance there is to give.

“So, what we are telling them here is that when children, who have been abused come to you, do not push them away.
