Borromeo, who turns 15 this August, left Cebu for Pangasinan on Friday, May 20, as he prepares to join his first competition after a two-year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Summer Warm Up in Mangaldan will be participated by 50 others competing in different events like the 3x3x3 Cube , 2x2x2 Cube , pyraminx , 4x4x4 Cube , and 3x3x3 one-handed . In 2017, at the age of only 10, Leo became the first Filipino to solve a Rubik’s cube in under six seconds in a competition.
Leo also joined the 2018 Asian Championship held in Taipei, Taiwan, where he was runner-up. He beat Zemdegs in a 3x3x3 event there. In 2019, he also competed in World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.
