CEBU CITY, Philippines—Cebuano speedcubing prodigy Leo Borromeo is set to compete in the Summer Warm Up Mangaldan 2022 to be held in Mangaldan National High School in Mangaldan, Pangasinan on

Borromeo, who turns 15 this August, left Cebu for Pangasinan on Friday, May 20, as he prepares to join his first competition after a two-year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Summer Warm Up in Mangaldan will be participated by 50 others competing in different events like the 3x3x3 Cube , 2x2x2 Cube , pyraminx , 4x4x4 Cube , and 3x3x3 one-handed . In 2017, at the age of only 10, Leo became the first Filipino to solve a Rubik’s cube in under six seconds in a competition.

Leo also joined the 2018 Asian Championship held in Taipei, Taiwan, where he was runner-up. He beat Zemdegs in a 3x3x3 event there. In 2019, he also competed in World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.
