Justin Pretre helps lead Menlo to the West Bay Athletic League track and field championship, qualifies for CCS in four events.

Menlo School track and field athlete Justin Pretre has been named Bay Area News Group boys high school athlete of the week for May 2-8 after he collected 16,609 votes by the 5 p.m. deadline Wednesday.

Saratoga baseball player Lucas Dennis placed second and Palo Alto swimmer Ethan Harrington was third.Pretre helped Menlo win a second consecutive West Bay Athletic League championship, competing in the 800, 1,600, 3,200 and 4×400 relay. He won the 1,600 in a meet-record 4:18.54. He took second in the 800 and 3,200 and the 4×400 relay.
