Vehicles drive down FM 1314 as heavy rains begin to flood portions of the road in April in Conroe. A slow moving cold front could bring heavy rainfall as well as the risk of severe weather to the area starting as early as Monday evening.
“With the safety of our students and staff in mind, Conroe ISD will be operating with a two-hour delay on Tuesday, March 22,” an announcement was sent to CISD parents Monday afternoon. “This decision was made to allow for the worst of the weather to pass before students and staff start making their way to school.”
Like Conroe ISD, Montgomery ISD has also announced a two-hour delayed start time for Tuesday, but will also not be extending its school day. “We are slated to get a lot of rain overnight,” Willis ISD announced in a post on Twitter. “As a precaution, we are going to delay our middle and high school start times to 10 am tomorrow, Tuesday, March 22. The buses for middle and high students will run an hour and 20 minutes later than regular pick-up times.”“There is still a possibility that we will need to close schools for the day,” the Willis ISD announcement said.
