The 11-year-old boy, Chace Harrison,"passed away in hospital this afternoon," Tasmania Police Commissioner, Darren Hine, said in a statement."Our thoughts continue to be with his family, and the families and loved ones of all the children involved, during what is an incomprehensibly difficult time," Hine added.
Commissioner Hine said the Devonport Criminal Investigation Branch's priority will be to"interview all witnesses, gather and analyze forensic evidence and all environmental aspects, including weather patterns and conditions at the time of the incident.

It was a freak accident- very tragic indeed. The bouncy castles are light and big. So this kind of a tragedy was waiting to happen on a windy day. So how can they be prevented? New legislations are required, especially because childrens lives are in danger.

How did a large balloon/bouncy castle explode and catapult 30 feet into the sky, with just Air in side...? That just does not happen without a serious form of internal pressure.. Was this bouncy castle over filled with Air..? Without a doubt, the owner is responsible..

The bouncy houses and other inflatables are safe when done professionally. But many who get in the business do not follow the proper rules of securing them because of either lack of knowledge, surface they are set up on being hard to secure to or just laziness.
