Teresa Sperry’s Virginia school district is investigating a claim by her parents that her teacher had assigned her the job of “nurse,” which required her to escort sick students out of class.A Virginia 10-year-old died of Covid-19 complications just five days after she started showing symptoms, according to her parents, who said the girl may have been exposed to the virus as a result of being classroom"nurse.
"And she said that if the kids were sick and needed to go home, she had to go get their book bag and take it back,” Nicole SperrySuffolk Public Schools did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News, but Anthonette Ward, a Suffolk Public Schools spokeswoman, told The Virginian-Pilot that school rules stipulate that adults, not other children, should accompany kids who are showing possible Covid symptoms.
. By the weekend, she had a bad cough. Her mother took her to an emergency room, where Teresa was tested for strep throat and swabbed for Covid. Jeff Sperry tested positive for a breakthrough Covid infection while planning his daughter’s funeral, Nicole Sperry said on her Facebook page.
I just can't comprehend why nurses of all ppl won't take their vaccine they have first hand knowledge of what this virus can do yet they're acting like damn fool's this sweet girl die because of carelessness. My condolences to her family.

Sad she died but definitely was once again obese. The family saying she was “not unhealthy” well I would say most “healthy” kids her age are half her lbs. sorry truth hurts but the real problem is Child obesity when it comes to Covid deaths the majority of the time.
Living a lie that all can be normal & kids can get back to open classrooms comes at a cost, but continuing on, promises an even bleaker future.
you would think her only job would be a student and leave the nursing or escorting others to the nurse to the damn adult administrators within the school... I would sue the board of Education for a $$$Billion dollars for wrongful death...
My thoughts and prayers for the family. This is why everyone eligible needs to get vaxxed, to give those currently ineligible the best shot of avoiding this. One child lost is too much, especially when the coat of vaccination is so so low. Shame on those too selfish to help.
