A legal challenge against the government’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate brought by a Victorian teacher has been listed to go to trial this month.
The Cetnars initially asked for an urgent order to suspend the mandate, but in the Supreme Court on Tuesday morning, Justice Melinda Richards said the urgent application was overtaken by the fact directions had already been made.Asked by Justice Richards whether they would like legal representation in the case, Ms Cetnar, who has also worked as a law clerk, said she was seeking a lawyer to represent them.
“There is legally a lot on all of these health experts’ plates, and I would just ask the court [to remember] that all of the people’s time I will be demanding over the next few weeks are also trying to do something incredibly important,” the barrister said.But Justice Richards said those officials would already have evidence at hand to justify their decision to enforce the vaccine mandate.
Mr Andrews said a survey completed by the Department of Education showed almost 99 per cent of school staff in the state have had at least one dose of a vaccine, which was the “good news”.
Surely our courts have better things to do
She is currently registered with VIT which means she needs to work a certain number of hours and complete professional development. As a CRT she would need to be registered and fulfil other criteria in order to maintain her qualifications and teach.
She IS NOT A TEACHER. Am guessing Feds or State LNP are prompting and paying for her to do so, as surprise, surprise I had an email from my “apparently Fed Member” today asking to sign a petition against Dans mandating of Vaccines. She got told.
I see this differently. Unfortunately the vaccine doesn't stop spread. In fact when schools go back we may see a huge surge. Who can we blame then The children? I'd like to see the option of rapid tests used for vaxed and unvaxed. Perhaps unvaxed would need to pay for it
I bet the children they're holding have been vaccinated.
That’s great and if they win, then parents will need to make the decision if they want an unvaccinated teacher teaching their child! Fantastic more pressure on the home front- can’t wait!!!
Now that her name and face is in the public domain, how many schools will be willing to hire her in the future. Vaccine mandate or not.
Really the only question is, will they be in hospital with Covid before they make it into a courtroom? Race against time!
