Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh pledged financial breaks for Canadian students on Saturday, vowing to do away with interest on federal student loans "immediately and permanently" as well as forgive student debt.
"We want to also forgive student debt to make sure that they're not being crushed under the weight of that debt." Singh's media appearance Saturday began with an introduction from Sudbury NDP candidate Nadia Verrelli, who said she was "full of emotions" over the cuts at Laurentian. Singh called Saturday for a national vaccine passport, saying the federal government has a role to play in providing Canadians with proof of immunization that would make international and local travel easier.
Where is he getting the money for that? Singh grasping straws, im already paying way too much tax, vacation pay shouldnt be taxed ! can he promise me that?
Perfect. I’ll tell my daughter to quit working so hard to save for school. Great idea. 🙄
Get rid of taxes as well! Without taxes we could pay our student loans
Great, more debt.
It would be great if students could get an education and not have to pay. But in the end our whole system is addicted to money. It needs to change from the foundation up if it's going to be meaningful. If we can even change it at all.
I wish for the many students. Sadly, the world is rotating off its axis.
With taxpayer money? Umm no thanks. Make people pay for their own bogus education. Maybe people will smarten up and stop taking useless programs !!!
We need leaders who stand behind real issues and not puppet. Fight for our freedom and you got my vote. Student debt then mortgage, from one monopoly to another.
CERB for all Canadians or might as well go.
