Florida's Hillsborough County Public Schools have had students in classrooms for only two weeks, and yet Katherine Burdge, a school nurse for the district, said she's more stressed out than at any other point during the coronavirus pandemic.

"At least we have this," she added, referring to the new mask mandate. "It's a safeguard. Nothing is 100 percent, but this will hopefully help get the numbers down."With fewer tools at their disposal, school nurses nationwide are expressing frustration and exhaustion even as the academic year is only just beginning.

They must work as front-line health care workers and as sounding boards for parents who seem to be divided between outraged opposition to mask mandates and real fear that their children could be exposed to the coronavirus. In Schwind's district e-learning is no longer an option, and it is difficult to know what to do with kids who have been exposed to the virus or have tested positive when they could miss 10 to 14 days of school. Other districts are just now restoring e-learning as an option because of spikes in their student populations.

Training next generation of call center workers to stay in their designated space perhaps. Look what you're doing to these kids! Shameful!! It's only been nearly 2 years and ONLY(thank God) 4.4 million died, WORLDWIDE. Overblown hype! Look in China about what they're doing in regards of masks & vaccines, they're open!!!

Florida agency says state can dock pay from school districts with mask mandatesFlorida’s Board of Education has cleared the way for the state to slowly bleed the pay of local school board members who voted to mandate masks for students, marking the first sanctions on those who have defied DeSantis administration orders Florida is becoming a right wing failed state. Sad because it used to be rather progressive for a southern state. Good. School Board members shouldn’t be paid anyway.
