LASU student activist, Omomeewa shot dead, union, management react

Yusuf Nurudeen, a.k.a Omomeewa, a student activist at the Lagos State University , has been shot dead.

Nurudeen contested for the post of Students’ Union President in the 29th LASUSU Election but lost, the duo said he remained diligent and never engaged in illegal activities. According to the Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, Ademola Adekoya, the management received the news of Omomeewa’s death with great shock.

The spokesman said the panel began sitting in 2019. The matter continued until 2020 but was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “The duo were said to have hobnobbed at the University Senior Staff Club until past 8pm in the evening after which they left together through the Iba Gate of the University for their destinations.
