Photograph: AlamyPhotograph: AlamyClassrooms in England are to be fitted with air quality monitors when state schools and colleges reopen after the summer holidays, in an effort improve ventilation and combat the spread of Covid., comes after a vociferous campaign by school staff unions for better ventilation, with research suggesting that the Covid virus mainly transmits via airborne particles, making enclosed spaces likely breeding grounds for infection.
Given that the majority of schools are in areas of poor air quality already I'm not sure this will resolve any of the issues. Just ensure that theres good ventilation!
A bit pointless if they’re not providing ventilation/air filters to remedy poor air quality in classrooms and other spaces in schools, colleges and universities. What health and safety bodies are available to monitor air quality and legally enforce measures to improve?
And then whatever they provide won't work, and even when it does schools won't be able to do anything about it.
