A Sydney high school teacher has pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual intercourse with an underage student, ahead of a planned trial later in the year.
Monica Elizabeth Young, 24, was due to stand trial in the NSW District Court in September on allegations she sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy on multiple occasions in June and July last year.She was arrested at her Greenacre home on July 10 and in February pleaded not guilty to 12 charges. But on Tuesday, Young struck a deal with prosecutors in a pre-trial hearing in the NSW District Court. Presented with a fresh indictment, she pleaded guilty before Judge Kate Traill to three counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child under 16.Monica Young has pleaded guilty to three charges under a new indictment.At the hearing on Tuesday, the Crown indicated it would push for a custodial sentence for Young, but did not make an application to revoke her bail.

jennynoise Honestly, the 14 yr old would have been the one grooming her. Not saying it's ok, but she was probably the one taken advantage of in a dark time in her life. I could, of course, be wrong.
