The province made the announcement during a news conference at Queen’s Park on Wednesday afternoon, where Premier Doug Ford declared another state of emergency in Ontario and another month-long stay-at-home order.
The province says as vaccine supply allows, teachers in high-risk neighbourhoods in other regions will be offered a shot, including teachers in York Region, Ottawa, Hamilton, Halton, and Durham Region. The province said it will also start vaccinating all adult workers at large workplaces in hot spot neighbourhoods.
Again. If there is all this unspent money for sick pay, yet people continue to go to work sick, where is the disconnect? Not lack of awareness. Its E.I.
That's great. But it takes 1 exposure to put all the kids and their teachers/guardians in class/recess/bus and the families at home, at risk. Please open up vaccination for ALL ages.
Dont know which federal govt Ford is referring too where money applied for shows up 'in a few days'. Lots of folks chasing $ weeks after applying. EI as the purveyor of sick pay is the least efficient way to deliver. Thus the huge pool of unused $
How about education workers in York region
How about schools go online for the rest of the year so teachers don't need to be prioritized? Hundreds of thousands of shots can be routed to essential and hotspots. Its a 'daycare' issue, don't need all ages in schools. I'm lucky my kids are old enough to be home so I can work
How about all other essential workers who have been working since this pandemic? Teachers can fuck right off! They get so many days off but yet are eligible🖕🏼
