'Our kids need you': Government appeals to potential tutors

Students will be individually assessed over the remainder of the 2020 school year to identify those who most need assistance. The tutors will be deployed for the duration of the 2021 school year, with individual schools given autonomy to determine how best to use the extra support staff. The Education Minister said the tutoring could happen in small groups of up to five children, in sessions of around 45 minutes.

FatherBob This should probably have been done a lot earlier. But hindsight is a wonderful thing so I'll just shut up and be glad it's happening.

FatherBob Will they be contractors? What could go wrong?

So finally parents have to admit that teachers do do a fair job..

Perhaps instead of another casualised workforce, we can actually give these teachers a permanent job, giving them security and a decent wage while providing our children with quality teaching. Tutoring is a stop gap measure that doesn’t address long standing issues

Could this be the next hotelquarantine disaster?

They should never have been taken out of school

This should be a federal initiative ScottMorrisonMP , not one left to State Premiers. COVID-19 should not be a state-based issue. Under Morrison’s watch, we have been reduced to federal & state squabbling with Labor premiers put under the microscope for Liberal political gain.

Money money 💰 debt debt 💸

Once again, the free market provides a better service than the state.

Andrews playing Santa after being caught up in Million$ from security quarantine corruption yesterday.........Where is Victoria's state budget to fund this, and many projects that are Billion$ and Billion$ over budget?

The problem is most havent been bothering

Now Dan off to the Vets to get neutered , sorry tutored in truth telling 🙄

so if home learning not good why do we have homeschooling without contact classes.

Bribes means guilt Dan has been exposed. Oh dear

Victoria has 980,000 primary and secondary students, one tutor for every 240 students? Nice.

as a parent who STRUGGLED with home learning despite having support from my education-qualified parents, i fully support this move

Oh finally reporting this initiative
