Governor Babagana Zulum has lamented the poor quality of primary and secondary school education in Borno State.

This was contained in a statement on Monday by the governor’s office titled, ‘Public schools: Tell me the truth, Zulum begs at meeting with Borno’s 84 principals’. The statement quoted him as saying, “Education is the bedrock of any development. Without functional educational system, we shall continue to experience this Boko Haram insurgency in Borno.

“There is a general decline in the standard of education in public institutions all over the country. There is the lack of qualified teachers, inadequate teaching facilities, poor maintenance culture, general decay of infrastructure, Government’s inability to ensure monitoring and evaluation, centralised control by the ministry, unnecessary bureaucracy, and irregular training and retraining of teachers and other essential staff.

They don't need qualification to rule Nigeria.Since they already have quota system, they just need 18 SANs to be president of Nigeria!

Chickens have come home to roost!

You are the only northerner I love. The same people who are not even qualified for university admission safe QUOTA SYSTEM are the ones occupying all the positions in government today making uninformed decisions for the educated. Isn't ironic?

They have a family business cow rearing is their family business university is not for everyone. And federal quota system must end.

Are the teachers teaching them qualified? Do they have conducive learning environment? Are the teachers well paid? Do the students have basic needs ? No be students fault

Yes, we know. That's why we are starting from somewhere. We will talk about this issue later.

How do you expect a state with much insurgency to produce qualified students. You worry about being alive the next minute than being educated. Life comes first before education. onitshaactivist onitshagirl

Not only in Borno

Pay your teachers well and see if they will not concentrate on teaching the students instead of running off to their farms and PPs in order to make ends meet.

Keep pampering them in the name quota system

Good, first step to a solving a problem is identifying the problem, now how do we solve that

Yes, everyone in Nigeria knows that... It's the fault of their leaders

But they'll still be giving admission before their qualified Abia counterparts

He is not lying, the period I spent there I saw things for myself. They can't speak English language most of them.
