The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) called on the Department of Education to release guidelines on student assessment for the pandemic school year.

— The Alliance of Concerned Teachers on Thursday called on the Department of Education to release guidelines on student assessment for the pandemic school year.

“Panawagan natin sa DepEd, ilabas na yung guidelines kung paano namin i-aassess ang aming mga estudyante at sana isaalang-alang ng mga kinokonsulta na mga eksperto daw na dapat ang edukasyon ay hindi magiging dagdag pahirap,” ACT member Kris Navales said in a virtual press conference. [Translation: Our situation is not normal. The current system of teaching is not normal, so our previous way of assessing student learning should not be employed.]The group launched the Bantay Balik Eskwela hotline where teachers and students can report issues relating to the coming school opening.
