Schools should start teaching children again, otherwise Britain'll have a generation of badly educated children. But schools should be open safely with distancing + masks for older children+staff, not just open as the clown suggests. Partial on-line teaching should become a norm
As long as the schools remain closed, many people can’t work. Schools have become daycares as their primary role in the economic engine instead of learning institutions. Govs need them open because workers not working isn’t sustainable and budget deficits are soaring.

August 24th. Prime Minister says that ‘parent’s would be negligent if they don’t send their children back to school’. The one part of this that I can fully endorse is that if anybody knows the meaning of the word negligent it really ought to be our Prime Minister.
August 4th. U.K. Government scientists say that test and trace is imperative to ensure that schools can open safely.

May 20th. Government spokesman says five tests must be passes before we can consider opening schools. Test 3 was ‘a continued and obvious decrease in the rate of infection.‘ It’s been going up for 3 weeks. Test 4 was to have a test and trace scheme in full operation.
This may have worked if you had the benefit of the doubt. If people could trust you. If the public thought your government had their best interests at heart. I wonder what happened that that’s not the case...
My wife and I have decided that our children will not be going back to school in September. The UK Govt has proved their inability to protect people effectively and show little acumen. It's not scientifically safe and there is not even a shell of a plan in the UK
