The roommate of a UBC nursing student, who is suing the RCMP after she said a wellness check left her physically injured and emotionally scarred, spoke out at a Vancouver rally.

Raine explained that she wasn’t home on the January night when security video captured Kelowna RCMP officer Cpl. Lacy Browning executing the now controversial wellness check at her apartment.

“When I first saw the video I was deeply concerned. And I’m very sorry to Ms. Wang for what occurred,” said Chief Superintendent Brad Haugli on July 2. No video has emerged to show what took place in the apartment but Raine believes much of the alleged assault happened out of view of cameras.

But it doesn't happen in Canada ,eh?

Stop asking police to check on people’s well-being!!! Families & friends; DO IT YOURSELF!!

This cop did nothing wrong, the girl was having a psychotic episode and was dangerous to herself and others

What’s next, suing for emotional distress for getting a speeding ticket?

Poor baby

Factual reporting of both sides would be a welcomed change to current “journalism” practices.

Shut up

Charge the cop Sue the cop those actions are not acceptable

do not think nursing is going to be your forte lots of emotions in that job.

Interesting that all of the womans friends didnt have the time to go and help her. They had to call the cops to take care of it and then bitch about the way it was handled. If I neglected a friend, I would take some responsibility.

Uh huh....they're all innocent.

Not exaggerating a wee bit maybe ?

What happened prior to this incident? Did she assault the Police officer or obstruct her duties? (Of course it doesn’t justify the aggressive and inhumane detention but I believe your viewers deserve to know the full story in order to make a better judgement)

“Allegedly dragged and stepped on?” The video showed clearly she was actually dragged and stepped on by police. Who the fuck wrote this article ?

A true Martyr

No doubt a lot more to this story than meets the eye.
