The effects of the coronavirus disease crisis on the Philippine economy would likely continue to be felt until next year, an economist from the Ateneo de Manila University said.
“This Covid-19 is unprecedented. What we are facing today is a combination of so many factors. Today we are seeing a severe recession coming to our face,” Alvin Ang said in a recent online seminar organized by the Registered Financial Planners Philippines.“The reality is without a vaccine, there cannot be a full lifting of the lockdown. If there is no vaccine, even if we gradually remove the quarantine, we cannot go back to where it was weeks ago.
