DAVAO CITY - The Department of Education in Region 11 (DepEd 11) is not keen on ordering the suspension of classes in the region despite the scare posed by the coronovirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“What we have from the DOH is the raising of the alert system to Code Red Sublevel 1. What we need at least to have in order to suspend classes is code red scenario 2,” he said. He said, however, the department was still monitoring the situation every now and then because their actions will be dependent on the future developments on “the problem of this COVID-19”.

One of which was the Davao Regional Athletic Association meet which was scheduled on April 1 to 7, 2020 at Davao de Oro.“Yesterday, we have confirmed the suspension of this . Indefinite until we will be given a green light to proceed,” he said, stressing that all concerned of the supposed undertaking to continuously monitor the daily information coming form the Department of Education.“In the previous months, the situation seem to have settled down.
