The Department of Education (DepEd) has assured that it will implement measures to help ensure that learners will still be able to continue the process of learning of the required competencies despite cancellation of classes.

In a statement, Education Secretary Leonor Briones said that DepEd will implement the suspension of classes at the basic education level in Metro Manila schools as announced by President Duterte late Monday night.

The announcement to suspend classes in NCR came after the briefing on the public health risk assessment by Department of Health and the subsequent deliberation by Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases members with inputs from Briones.
