I can attest to this. my parents were devastated when they lost me. But then someone staked them a puppy and a couple of kittens, and they were fine after that.
This fear has kept me from having children.
This is exactly why I am not a parent ... anymore.
But the payoff if you win, man. You'll be set for life.
