A new voting law in New Hampshire is causing confusion among college students, threatening to dampen turnout among a key Democratic voting bloc in a state where the margins of victory in 2020 could be razor-thin.

“This law was an attempt to make voting more confusing and expensive and burdensome,” Henry Klementowicz, an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire, said. “Every single voter in New Hampshire needs to know that if you are eligible to vote — if you are a citizen and domiciled and over 18 — you do have the right to vote.”

Khan organizes campus tabling, where students hand out materials and talk to fellow students. The group's members regularly spend a combined 20 hours a week encouraging voter registration and explaining the implications of HB 1264 to the school’s approximately 6,500 students. One student said she was forgoing renting vehicles through Zipcar, a car-sharing service, to go on winter grocery runs for fear of running afoul of the law.

More than one Democratic presidential campaign has taken notice of New Hampshire's voting rights landscape. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts brought up the law while campaigning in Hanover earlier this month ahead of the state's Democratic primary Feb. 11.

janestreet Just WTF is this scam?

So just kids that are in college are the confused ones and everyone that did not go to college understands it

Iowa also has a new voter ID law. It was targeted at non-Iowa resident college students. Right IAGOP?

newhampshire NHDems newhampshirecom If a person wants to vote in a certain state, they should be registered in the state in which they want to vote. Else, the CHEATING DNC students will vote there AND IN THEIR HOME STATE. SO, WHO'S CHEATING? THE DNC is.

Wah, if they can afford college (mommy and daddy is probably paying for it), and they can, AND DO, party all of the time, they, THE DNC CRYBABIES, can afford it.

Isn’t that the idea?

oh yeah Merica, gop taking us one major step closer to 'Democracy is bad for America, in Jesus we trust, for he will give us our next supreme leader...'

Confusouis should say nay. ✔

Already making excuses for the re-election of Donald Trump, huh? Last time it was 'the Russians.'

That’s the feature, not a bug. Voter suppression is the end game.

College Students are smart They will find n call out all of what is happening all 5 W's of it ! Watch n lean !

In the past , boomers were the most most reliable voting bloc . Now because younger voters showing up at the polls & GOP want to stop them

But it’s clearly the Democrats trying to cheat in the election right? Meanwhile the GOP makes it harder and harder for Americans to vote. It’s a right as an American citizen to vote it shouldn’t cost you any money besides your yearly taxes!

FUCKED UP

If it’s that confusing, they probably shouldn’t be voting anyway.

MORE GOP CHEATING

I think that's the plan.

Poll taxes are illegal arent they?

They should do this nation wide

Creating biased hysteria for the democrats right? so much for unbiased news in America.
