A staff member at a West Australian country high school has been suspended over historical allegations of child abuse. "After being notified of the historical allegations, the Department of Education immediately suspended a Goldfields staff member, pending the outcome of an investigation," the department's executive director of professional standards and conduct Mary Brown said.In a letter to parents this week, Esperance Senior High School principal Ian Masarei said a "non-teaching staff member" had been suspended since the historical allegations were raised last October.
